On Tuesday, November 4, the Milan State Police arrested a 20-year-old Iraqi citizen for evading arrest. He had a criminal record for property crimes, violations of weapons laws, and violations of drug laws.

On the evening of the previous day, November 3rd, the young man had left his home in the province of Udine, where he was under house arrest following a conviction for a residential burglary. A few days earlier, the young man had posted a live video on his social media profile in which he announced his intention to escape and carry out an attack, prompting a request for an increased precautionary measure against him.

After escaping, the 20-year-old posted another video in which he live-streamed his electronic bracelet. The following day, Tuesday, November 4, he was tracked down by DIGOS officers from Milan’s Anti-Terrorism Unit. Alerted by DIGOS officers from the Udine Police Headquarters, and thanks to some background information that emerged from a live social media broadcast the young man was making at the time, they were able to locate him and arrest him inside a club in the city center while he was live-streaming.

The arrested man was handed over to the judicial authorities, who, following the summary trial held yesterday morning, confirmed the arrest and placed the 20-year-old under house arrest in the province of Udine.
