Arrest of another suspected member of the foreign terrorist organization Hamas

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office announced yesterday evening (November 11, 2025)

Borhan El-K., who was born in Lebanon.

Upon entering Germany from the Czech Republic on the A17 motorway, he was provisionally arrested by officers of the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Federal Police. He is accused of membership in a foreign terrorist organization (Section 129a Paragraph 1 No. 1, Section 129b Paragraph 1 Sentences 1 and 2 of the German Criminal Code).

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office accuses the defendant of essentially the following:

Borhan El-K. is a member of the terrorist organization Hamas. In August 2025, he acquired a fully automatic rifle, eight Glock pistols, and over 600 rounds of ammunition in Germany and had them transported to Berlin to Wael FM, who is being prosecuted separately. The weapons and ammunition were seized during Wael FM’s arrest in Berlin on October 1, 2025 (see Press Release No. 65 of October 1, 2025). This action was intended to prepare for Hamas’s planned attacks on Israeli or Jewish institutions in Germany and Europe.

The accused will be brought before the investigating judge of the Federal Court of Justice later today, who will decide on the issuance of an arrest warrant and the execution of pre-trial detention.

This morning, Danish police authorities also searched the premises of the man arrested yesterday and another suspect in Copenhagen and the surrounding area.
