The entrance to the Rotterdam office of Danish shipping company Maersk, located on Boompjes, was vandalized overnight from Sunday to Monday. Several windows were damaged and splashed with red paint.
A police spokesperson stated that the entrance to the building was briefly cordoned off. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Maersk has been targeted by several pro-Palestinian activist groups, which accuse the company of being complicit in the war in Gaza due to its transportation of military materials to Israel. It is currently unknown who was responsible for the latest act of vandalism.
This is not the first time the Rotterdam office has been targeted. In May 2025, the building was occupied by activists. In June 2025, it was again vandalized, with more than twenty windows smashed, red paint thrown on the facade, and slogans written on the front of the building. Four people were arrested in connection with that incident.
