David Rachline, mayor of Fréjus and a prominent figure in France’s National Rally party, has filed a complaint following the discovery of antisemitic and insulting graffiti aimed at him. The messages were found on a wall in the La Gabelle neighborhood, clearly visible from the street, at a football stadium.
Rachline, who is of Jewish descent on his father’s side, condemned the graffiti as “insulting remarks aggravated by their racial and religious nature.” On social media, he stated that the tags targeted “the mayor of Fréjus that I am,” and said he trusted the justice system to identify and prosecute those responsible.
