Dozens of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered again outside Miznon, the restaurant of Israeli chef Eyal Shani, located in the upscale Notting Hill neighborhood of London. According to the restaurant, this marks the seventh such protest in recent weeks.
Protesters chanted slogans such as “Free Palestine from the river to the sea”, widely interpreted as a call for the elimination of Israel. One speaker declared that Palestinians had “the right to resist by all necessary means,” prompting applause from the crowd. One individual was arrested and taken into custody on charges of incitement to hatred.
The restaurant’s management denounced the repeated actions as “harassment, intimidation, and racism,” noting that these disruptions have affected patrons. Footage posted on social media showed a heavy police presence, although some videos suggested officers initially remained across the street before intervening. Clashes between protesters and police were also reported.
Members of the British Jewish community have criticized London’s Metropolitan Police for what they perceive as insufficient action in response to repeated antisemitic incidents. One community member stated that police are “passive in the face of harassment and incitement to violence against Jews and law-abiding citizens.” According to the Telegraph, one resident had alerted authorities about online calls to protest, while restaurant security had already filed complaints following previous demonstrations, describing the events as “ambushes.”
Police confirmed that the protest dispersed shortly after their intervention.
