A new wave of shockwaves has hit a Lyon university in a case of antisemitism . At the end of October, on the 24th and 31st, messages targeting Jews were posted by students at Lyon 3 University, located on the Manufacture des Tabacs campus in Lyon ‘s 8th arrondissement. These messages included a poll asking “Who likes Jews?” and calls for the murder of Jews.
“Death to the Jews,” “Who loves the Jews?”
These messages were reportedly shared in two discussion groups among first-year law and political science students . The poll in question, a screenshot of which was published by the right-wing student union UNI, shows a survey asking “Who likes Jews?” with three choices: “Not me, I shoot them,” “Not me,” and “Not me, I don’t like them.”
Another screenshot shows “Death to the Jews” written in a handwritten style on a private conversation. “UNI Lyon strongly condemns these actions, which are unworthy of the university, and calls on the authorities to take firm action against those responsible. Anti-Semitism has no place in our lecture halls,” the union wrote.
The university reports the facts to the authorities.
According to our colleagues at Le Figaro , the management of Lyon-3 reported the messages in question to the justice system at the end of October.
The university president, Gilles Bonnet, also sent an internal email to the 28,000 students to condemn the events.

That is why I refer, and will continue to refer whenever possible, the matter to the disciplinary bodies of our university whenever one of its members fails to comply with this requirement and thereby seriously damages the image of our university.Gilles Bonnet, president of Lyon-3
These anti-Semitic messages have once again provoked outrage among some politicians, starting with Laurent Wauquiez (LR). The MP and former president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional council says he has also filed a complaint with the courts, denouncing “anti-Semitic tendencies in our universities fueled by the far left,” on
