A major police operation in Ferrol, Spain, led to the arrest of a woman on Tuesday for her alleged involvement in jihadist activities. The arrest took place in the Recimil neighborhood, specifically in a social housing building on Calle Ortigueira No. 4, and involved specialized units of the Policía Nacional.

The operation began early in the morning and involved a detailed search of the woman’s apartment. Officers seized multiple boxes of evidence, which will be analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation. The raid concluded around 11:40 a.m., after which the woman was escorted from the premises and placed into a police vehicle.

Due to the terrorism-related nature of the case, authorities plan to transfer the suspect to Madrid, where she will appear before the Audiencia Nacional, Spain’s high court responsible for terrorism cases.

The scale of the operation caught local residents by surprise, despite the neighborhood’s regular police presence. The use of plainclothes officers and intervention units marked this as an unusually large and serious law enforcement action in the area.
