A minor from the province of Caserta has been arrested after allegedly swearing allegiance to ISIS. Italian police carried out a pre-trial detention order placing the teenager in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center in Nisida. The measure was issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Juvenile Court of Naples.

The Italian minor, who resides in the province of Caserta, is under investigation for participating, through online channels, in an association with terrorist purposes. According to investigators, in the summer of 2025 he publicly formulated and shared online an oath of allegiance to the Islamic State.

The investigation was conducted by officers from the Digos units of the Naples and Caserta police headquarters, coordinated by the Naples Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office and supported by the Central Directorate of Prevention Police. Authorities gathered evidence of direct online contacts with individuals who identified themselves as ISIS members based in Syria.

Investigators also found that the minor had widely disseminated videos depicting terrorist techniques. These videos were reportedly downloaded from the dark web and shared with some of his peers living in the Campania region, who are now also subject to further investigative scrutiny.

In addition, the teenager allegedly downloaded and shared multimedia content containing instructions for making homemade explosives. These materials were reportedly produced by Islamic State media agencies and distributed within his online network.

The minor is expected to be questioned by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations in the coming days.
