At the University of Bergamo, pro‑Palestinian sympathizers staged a brief “anti‑Zionist” protest during the conference “Young People, University and Work: The Attractiveness of Our Country.”
The target of the protest was Giorgio Gori, who was present as a speaker. Gori, former mayor of the city and currently a Member of the European Parliament for the Democratic Party (PD), belongs to the party’s reformist wing, which criticizes the PD’s ideologically pro‑Palestinian stance.
During the protest, Gori was threatened with the following statement:
“We are not with Hamas, but we are with anyone who shoots at a Zionist.”
