In one of Brussels’ prestigious neighborhoods, a “resistance festival” was held in recent days, according to its organizers, in which a “performance” was staged in which participants, wearing keffiyehs, simulated the murder of Israelis to the background of songs glorifying terrorism.

In Brussels, the capital of the European Union, a “Resistance Festival” was held in recent days in Bethlehem Square in the Saint-Gilles neighborhood. The three-day event featured a street performance in which participants wearing keffiyehs simulated shooting Israelis, while celebrating with songs praising the intifada. Eyewitnesses reported calls for the murder of Israelis, glorification of the intifada, and calls for the destruction of Israel, along with calls against the police forces.

The events come as the European Union is working on a report that could lead to sanctions against Israel over allegations of human rights abuses. Belgian Jewish sources explained that the organization behind the festival is the “Semidon” organization, whose activists have often expressed support for terrorists, along with another pro-Palestinian organization.

In a video recording of the event, reminiscent of the October 7 massacre, participants wearing keffiyehs are seen simulating shooting, while other actors lie on the ground in civilian clothes and simulate bodies. The recording is accompanied by chants of “Liberate Palestine” and “From the river to the sea,” against a backdrop of Palestinian flags. At the end of the performance, the four participants wave wooden dummy rifles in triumph.

“Samidon is a terrorist-supporting organization that is banned in many countries, but for some unknown reason continues to operate freely in Belgium,” explains Ralph Pace, chairman of the JID organization for the fight against anti-Semitism. “I call on the authorities to immediately ban its activities and stop the incitement.”

Pace warns of the broader phenomenon: “‘Globalization of the Intifada’ is not an empty slogan. The recent events in Washington prove that there are those who internalize these messages and see Israelis as a legitimate target. When calls for murder are heard in the streets without response, the message is that harming Israelis is permissible. Belgium must protect its Israeli citizens and make it clear that such violence will not pass in silence. The real meaning of ‘exporting the Intifada’ is a real danger to life for Israelis throughout Europe.”
