Over recent days and weeks, the European Jewish Congress, working through its communal crisis management arm, SACC by EJC, and its affiliated Jewish communities, has mobilised to assist refugees fleeing from Ukraine.

Crisis management teams have been activated in the Jewish communities of the bordering countries of Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary to provide assistance to all refugees and to facilitate their journeys to safe locations.

This includes setting up 24/7 hotlines and providing accommodation, transport and basic necessities. These efforts are also being conducted in cooperation with local churches.

“This is an enormous humanitarian challenge for all our communities and exactly the sort of mission for which SACC was set up,” said SACC by EJC CEO Ophir Revach who is currently working with Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

“It is a source of immense pride to see our communities mobilise in solidarity to protect refugees and offer their homes and assistance in this way. We will continue to assist all those in need to the best of our ability, skill set and resources, in line with our Jewish values” he added.
